We’re opening the doors to everyone who wants to help shape the future of the next big winter event in Copenhagen.
The Vision
Bringing the spirit of the mountains and winter to Copenhagen
A new kind of ski and snowboard event — grounded in the community, but open to everyone who feels drawn to winter. Skiers, snowboarders, filmmakers, photographers, artists, designers, brands, destinations and fans.
It’s a celebration of everything winter stands for: movement, creativity, and connection.
We want to bring the mountains to the city — to share the feeling that lives in the snow.
The Open Call Process
What is the Open Call?
A structured workshop process designed to surface ideas, partners, and roles for the 2026 event.
We’re inviting brands, destinations, athletes, federations, media, and community builders to contribute ideas and perspectives that can be assembled into a strong, future-ready format.
Together, we’ll shape three key outputs:
- Event Framework – program pillars, locations, and calendar
- Activation Menu – competitions, exhibitions, talks, and brand labs
- Partnership & Business Model – sustainable cost structure, ROI, tires and rights
How does it work?
We’ll host two Open Call Workshops — all following the same collaborative format. Each session offers the same content and structure; simply choose the one that best fits your schedule or location. Every workshop is an opportunity to co-create, connect, and contribute.

Open for everyone: local community, creative industries, travel agencies, destinations, and partners across the winter scene - Online session November 27th 2025
Similar in format to the other workshops, open for everyone who can’t join in person.
Each workshop follows a discovery format, where participants collaborate across three central themes connected to the event’s goals.
Themes
Your ideas can touch one theme—or bridge across several:
Culture / Social
Exhibitions, film & photography, music, food, urban installations, sustainability showcases, community rides, inclusivity programs.
Leisure Sport / Elite / Competition
Rail jam and big air concepts, urban slope builds, FIS-aligned formats, youth progression zones, adaptive sports, safety & avalanche education.
Business / Commercial
Destination showcases, trade sessions, retail pop-ups, demo villages, B2B matchmaking, media & content studios, sponsor experiences.
The Goal
To shape a clear event framework for 2026 — one that’s adaptable, inclusive, and distinctly Copenhagen.
We’re aiming for an event that connects the winter community, inspires the public, and attracts strong partner support.
Framework finalized early 2026, presented spring 2026, and live late 2026.

A Bit of History
Back in 2008, we built Ski Event for the second time — a weekend that turned the city into a winter playground. Ramps rose in the streets, the smell of wax filled the air, and riders from across Denmark came together to celebrate the culture that shaped us.
That spirit never disappeared — it just waited for the right moment to return.
Copenhagen Winter Festival is that moment.
