Founders Story
From Ski Bum to Strategic Edge
I’m Ole Takai, founder of Twenty Eighty. Born in Denmark to a Danish mother and Japanese father, I grew up dreaming about ski slopes, powder adventures, and exploring the world. Skiing wasn’t just my passion—it sparked my ambition to build a life where travel, creativity, and business merged seamlessly.
In 2005, I dove headfirst into my passion, crafting vibrant events and capturing authentic moments within ski and surf culture. This ignited my love for visual storytelling with a distinctively authentic edge. Soon after, I founded Snowstorm Leisurewear—a bold fusion of freestyle energy, sophisticated menswear, and street-inspired casual wear. Elegant minimalism infused with a rebellious spirit.
Further ventures—including GlobalResound, SOS Sportswear, Takaisan Consulting, Ripples, XLife Media, and Blacksnow, each project rooted in subcultural authenticity and further enriched through digital experience and strategic design thinking. The unprecedented challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic prompted a strategic pivot, culminating in my partnership at Sunrise, where I continued to pursue innovative and disruptive approaches to digital, brand and business strategy.
Today, after two decades at the intersection of subculture, branding, digital innovation, and design, Twenty Eighty represents more than a new chapter—it’s my legacy. Here, Japanese aesthetics blend with Danish simplicity, setting the stage for exciting projects and meaningful collaborations worldwide.
At Twenty Eighty, we champion clarity and cultivate mental space in a noisy world. We deeply embrace the belief that 20% of our efforts drive 80% of our happiness—we call this ‘The Unforeseen Balance,’ and it’s how we choose to live and create.
Welcome to Twenty Eighty.
